Upcoming Events and Demos
For those who like to plan ahead, sometimes way ahead, here are some local things on the calendar.

Upcoming Meetings
No exceptional meetings at the moment.

Whyt Whey Commons - the local business and officers meeting. Open to all.
As of June 2005, we will be switching to quarterly Commons meetings rather than monthly, with the option of adding more meetings as needed when we have events or demos coming up.

Sewing Circle
Currently on hold.

Fighter Practice
Whyt Whey Fighter Practice is on hold indefinitely.

Other practices held in nearby areas:

Be sure to check the Marshal's Handbook as it's been updated as of August 21st, 2006. There are new armor requirements that go into effect on December 1st that all fighters (and marshals, especially) should know about.

Fencing Practice
The Astoria Fencing Practice is held on a weekly basis, Tuesdays at our new Astoria location. Please note that, like it's predecessor at St. George's Church in Astoria, this is an MSR practice but all are welcome.
For information about fencing in Ostgardr, contact
Llewyelln ap Rhys (Thmccann at aol.com)

Dance Practice
Renaissance Dance practice is now at the warm weather site, Castle Belvedere in Central Park, and is planned for the following Wednesdays:
April 18
May 2
May 16
May 30
June 13
June 27
July 11
July 25
August 8
August 22
September 5
September 19
October 3
October 17

Practices are led by Lord Thomas Trueheart. Written directions to Belvedere Castle and Google Map directions from the west side of the park.

A&S Nights
On the second Monday of every month, Whyt Whey will be hosting scheduled A&S nights, led by our A&S Mistress, Margarita Ivanovna Novgorodetsa. Check the email list for more information including what may be covered, what to bring and where these will be held.
January 8th @ 7pm, the first will be held at Margarita's apartment in the UES.

Cooking Thingie
At Alexandre's. Erratic schedule but may well pick up again.

Josie Wood's
Many Monday nights, there is an informal gathering at Josie Wood's tavern. Folks start to gather around 7 PM. There are darts and two pool tables. They offer an OK pub menu. Beer/Cider is ~$6 after happy hour, some beers are $3. No garb. Folks often coordinate on the email list if they are planning on going. They start carding at the door at 9PM, but not before since it's a restaurant, too. It must be noted, though, that it is best to check on the email list first to see if anyone is specifically planning on being there on the day and time you're interested in...even the "regulars" are irregular, at times.
