Whyt Whey Commons - December 11, 2002 Attending: Alexandre d'Avigne Jeff Berry Anne Anne Murphy Ervald the Optimistic Zorikh Lequidre Eularia Trewe Lorree True Johann von Antwerp Richard Sanford Sancha de Flores Jessica Valadez 1) We discussed methods of reaching the members of Whyt Whey, specifically trying to contact those who have been around for a while but who are not on the email list or otherwise easy to find. Zorikh mentioned posting a yahoo invite to the Cantonofwhytwhey yahoogroup on other appropriate newsgroups, and all the members in attendance would try to get contact information from any other Whyt Wheyvians they could find, or give them Alexandre's contact info. 2) Meeting times were discussed again. 2nd Wednesdays began to look less like a good option. 2nd Mondays seemed like they might be OK. The January meeting, scheduled for January 15th will remain on that date, but beginning with February, 2nd Mondays may go into effect. This will be discussed more at the January meeting. (That would make the February meeting on the 10th.) Rotating the meeting space was discussed a little, but in default of another good space, they will continue to be held at 552 Riverside Dr. The January meeting is at 7:30PM and the main order of business is officer elections. 3) Zorikh mentioned his work with PS87 on the upper west side and their Spring Demo. They may be interested in providing us with space for meetings in exchange for demos and classes and so forth. The possibility of having a regular meeting space for classes, practices and such is very exciting. 4) We discussed the idea of events in outdoor spaces - parks, etc. Including perhaps the Brooklyn waterfront looking back at Manhattan. 5) Sewing night was mentioned, but no firm data was to hand. 6) The fact that Tadg is not on the mailing list was mentioned and Alexandre said he would contact him about the goings on. 7) The database of Whyt Wheyvians on the website was mentioned and also the policy of only adding folks who request that they be added. Uploading pictures and such to the yahoogroup was suggested as a way to maybe catch the attention of browsers who might find the group and wonder what it was about. Submitted by Alexandre d'Avigne
