Whyt Whey Commons - April 10, 2003 Attending: Alexandre d'Avigne Jeff Berry Anne Anne Murphy Elianne of Ynys Enlli Susan Dahlinger Ervald the Optimistic Zorikh Lequidre Meadbh Mimi Curry Sancha de Flores Jessica Valadez Umbar in Hashiral Daudachi Beis Rick Umbaugh Old Business: 1) The I-CON demo went well. Continuing Business: 1) The next commons meeting was not scheduled. 2) Meadhbh has scheduled a sewing circle for April 16th, at her place, starting at 6:30 or 7PM. 3) Another sewing circle is scheduled for May 14th. Officers Reports: 1) Knight Marshall: Ervald for Tadgh. Union Square will be soon we hope. Ervald is considering a non-armoured basics class for the very new fighters on Tuesdays in Washington Square park, prior to meeting at Josie Woods. There is also a possibility of an adult education class on armour construction somewhere. Valgard has also begun a household fighter practice on Sundays. 2) Mistress of A&S: Anne mentioned that there has been a good turnout at the vocal music schola, learning a variety of music, and there is talk of perhaps doing a basic schola of some kind at Union Square Fighter Practice. 3) Web Minister: No report, but the website continues to be updated. 4) Exchequer: Sean was out sick. Alexandre will coordinate with Sean to get the paperwork done. 5) Herald: Sancha is still collecting info for the roll of arms. 6) Seneschal: All quiet on the Eastern front. 7) Chronicler: No report, but intending to get a May issue out. New Business: 1) PS87 in Manhattan would like us to attend/give a demo on May 31st at the school. This has the potential to turn into a meeting and practice site. Ervald is the contact. 2) We discussed having a "picnic" event at a Manhattan park. Questions raised were the possibility of grilling, which is forbidden in some parks, what permits would be needed and what bonds we might need. Elianne would be happy to be Deputy Autocrat but we need a lead Autocrat for this. 3) We also discussed the idea of a feasty/A&Sy event at Meadbh's building. The room is nice and could do a sit down feast for 50. (The hard limit is, I think 75, and so once you add staff and so forth, 50 or maybe 60 would be the maximum.) There are a few questions that need to be answered by the management company before we can ahead. However, Meadbh will be the Autocrat, Alexandre will be the Head Cook, and Sancha will research the theme. The dates we are tentatively looking at are December 6 or 13. Submitted by Alexandre d'Avigne
