Whyt Whey Commons - May 8, 2003 Attending: Alexandre d'Avigne Jeff Berry AEllin Olafs dotter Anne Murphy Ervald the Optimistic Zorikh Lequidre Sancha de Flores Jessica Valadez Sean O'Suillaebhain Beer Sean M. Sullivan Tadg Paul Hilts Continuing Business: 1) The next commons meeting was scheduled for June 12th at 7:30 PM. We did not fix a site. If no one volunteers, it will be at 552 Riverside Dr. 2) A sewing circle is scheduled for May 14th. These usually take place on the second Wednesday of the month. So one should be scheduled for June 11th. Officers Reports: 1) Knight Marshall: Tadg reported that Union Square fighter practice is underway. The official start date was April 29th. We have originals of all the appropriate documentation on hand in case there are any questions. There is no fighter practice on the 13th, since the Park is committed for a corporate event. There have been a good number of fighters attending. It was suggested that anyone who is planning to go to the practice and fence mention it on the email lists so that other fencers will know that there will be people there to fence, since it seems that the fencing turnout has been a little light and also that there have been times when a fencer will show up, no one else is there, they leave and a few moments later another fencer shows up. Lather, rinse, repeat. 2) Mistress of A&S: Derboghail emailed a short report covering the activity in the canton. A fabric and leather run is in the process of being organized. 3) Web Minister: No report, but the website continues to be updated and is a pretty effective report itself. 4) Exchequer: Sean handed off the paperwork to Alexandre and the two will find a time to get it done. 5) Herald: Sancha is still collecting info for the roll of arms and is consulting on names. Anne now has a name! 6) Seneschal: All quiet on the Eastern front. 7) Chronicler: No report, still intending to get a May issue out, but clearly a little late. New Business: 1) The May 31st demo at PS87 in Manhattan has been cancelled. A demo on Oct. 13 is still possible. Upcoming Events: 1) There were some questions about the details of the Viking demo on May 17, mostly concerning who to contact timing and so on. 2) There is a War Practice scheduled for May 18th. 3) At the time of this writing, Riding of the Marches in Northpass is done. Alexandre ran the fencing. The event was very nice and the site was lovely. 4) We have focussed in on December 6th as the best date for the event at Meadbh's building. Now we need to take it to the Provincial Commons and see if we get the time slot. Alexandre can't attend (blatant plug - he's doing Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet that weekend), but Sancha volunteered to carry the message. The theme is coming around to Feast of St. Nicholas.
