Sullivan Tadg ui Duinn Paul Hilts Tamara Tamara Bedic Continuing Business: 1) There will be no commons meeting in August. The September Commons meeting will be at Alexandre's, 552 Riverside Dr., on Sep. 11. The October meeting will be back at Medb's. Sean mentioned that in the fall, he may be able to get space for meetings at Hunter since he's trying to get a student group going. 2) A sewing circle is scheduled for August 20th, at Medb's as usual. 3) Hurley practice is still happening before fighter practice at Union Square. Officers Reports: 1) Knight Marshall: Tadg reported that although all the permits have been submitted to the parks department for July, August, September and October, they have not responded. The next few weeks at practice, they will be checking both picture IDs and Auth cards in preparation for Pennsic. 2) Mistress of A&S: Tamara agreed to take over as our new A&S mistress, pending her membership which she intends to get before Pennsic (she'll be testing the new Credit Card membership option on the www.sca.org website.) She will be contacting Derbogail to see about getting copies of old reports, files and so forth. 3) Web Minister: No report. 4) Exchequer: A Cheesecloth subscription has come in! Sean says he should be able to piggyback last year's report onto the Ostgardr report since there was no activity. With this subscription, though, there is now activity! 5) Herald: Sancha reports that the rush of submissions is over, but a spirited discussion took place about armory, naming conventions and consultations. Alexandre had picked up the Whyt Whey banners and will get them to Sancha as part of the Heraldic regalia. Canton members who want one to display at Pennsic should contact Sancha or Alexandre. 6) Seneschal: All quiet on the Eastern front. 7) Chronicler: The Cheesecloth was done and distributed to attendees. The actual mailing will go out soon. The Chronicler reiterated a request that all the Cantonians keep an ear open and submit to her information for the "By the Whey" section of the newsletter in particular. She is looking for any news pertaining to Canton members, especially from events that she does not attend; things like awards and competitions or tourneys won, certainly, but also any other little bits of information of interest to other Canton members. 8) Historian: Elianne volunteered to become Canton historian. Upcoming Events: 1) There is one more War Practices scheduled before Pennsic, Sunday July 20, at Kissena Park. 2) The Yule Event: The contract has been signed for December 6th. An event announcement is being put together and Medb is starting to get her staff together. After a final check at Ostgardr Commons on the 18th, an event announcement will be submitted. 3) There was more discussion of a "Pilgramage Event," very low key, to be held perhaps in October. Sancha is spearheading the effort. Submitted by Alexandre d'Avigne
